International Patient Advocacy Association (IPAA) -- IPAA is a non-profit organization that works closely with patients, industry, researchers and legislators to provide legal and patient advocacy...free of charge. Any individual diagnosed with a chronic illness can receive help with obtaining new treatment therapies, insurance coverage, educational materials, patient meetings, lobbying efforts, and more.

National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) – The NIRI The is a not-for-profit professional organization whose mission is to advance the practice of investor relations and the professional competency and stature of its members.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PhRMA) -- PhRMA is an industry association comprised of approximately 100 U.S. companies committed to pharmaceutical research. The site has an excellent section on "Drugs in Development", along with industry facts and figures, health guides, answers to frequently asked questions and other pharmaceutical industry news.

Society of Environmental Journalists -- The online home of the Society of Environmental Journalists and the International Federation of Environmental Journalists.

Biotechnology Life Science Dictionary -- An online science dictionary, provided by the University of Texas, containing over 8,300 life science terms regarding biochemistry, biotechnology, botany, cell biology and genetics.

Britannica.com -- Britannica Encyclopędia is available online and the Britannica.com also provides a World Wide Web navigation service that classifies, rates, and reviews more than 65,000 Web sites into 14 subject areas.

Government Information Sharing Project -- The Government Information Sharing Project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered at Oregon State University Libraries.   A comprehensive statistical resource for small and large businesses, economic development professionals, researchers, students, educators, journalists, state and local government agencies, and more.

Guide to Understand Financials -- The Guide to Understanding Financials, provided by IBM, is a slow loading, but useful reference for understanding corporate annual reports.

Medical Matrix -- Medical Matrix provides ranked, peer reviewed, annotated and updated clinical resources.

Founded with a grant from the Hillman Foundation, the project has evolved to its current state over the course of more than a year.
